Attention all Vintage Mod drivers please read!!!
VMRA is looking for a commitment for Sunday's Fall Classic race. The goal here is to get as many Vintage Modifieds together as possible and to put on as good of a show as possible for one of the biggest races in the North West! Used Hoosier 3035 and 3045 are the only tires that will be allowed for this race. If you have used 3035, 3045 measuring less than or equal to 5/32" you can have them checked in and stamped by our tech official. This is to prevent new tires or scuffs from being used. I think everyone can agree that we all need to be on the same tire to create an even playing field! $10 per stamped tire will be collected to help pay our tech official. If you have good used ST-1 and ST-2 takeoffs we will gladly trade them out for stamped legal tires at no cost. (Right for right and left for left). It is $35 a tire to purchase them from VMRA. Please let us know if you plan to race or need tires so we can make sure to bring enough tires for all. Tires will need to be inspected and stamped Sunday morning prior to qualifying.
2025 Board Members voted in: Vince Conwell, president; Jason Quatsoe, vice president; Mike Clother, Secretary; Shane Strimple, Sgt. of Arms
and Rick Villyard, treasurer. To fulfill rule requirement to have a full board, Mike reluctantly agreed to fill the role of Secretary.
Micki Rux was recognized for her long-time service to the club and was awarded a plague honoring her 18-years contributions.
Rule clarifications regarding full windshield and add-on weights were voted on to be kept in place.
The 2025 race schedule was handed out to teams who were advised that it is still pending confirmation from the tracks involved.
Vince Conwell spoke about WARPA meeting that he and Ric Villyard attended. Vince spoke onstage about our club and how we appreciated all
the tracks and promoters that allowed us to race at their venues then he showed a three-minute video highlighting our cars and tracks where we ran at. It was rather exciting when the promoters approached Rick and Vince and asked them to run at their tracks. They were excited to get us on their schedule. Doubleheaders at Hermiston Raceway will be something new for our club to experience this year.
One of the things Vince and Rick talked about at WARPA was from Sports insurance specialist. They offer the drivers and/or participants in the pits
coverage for $250 per year 500,000 in benefit. If you’re interested in this, you can email them at Kicksomerisk.com For more information.
There was a discussion about the new ST1 and ST2 tires that are going to be ran in our local area in 2025 and how we can get our hands on the takeoff tires, if anyone has ideas of teams that have tires sitting around that we can get our hands on please email us and let us know [email protected]
.
There was a discussion about car construction rules for 2026 and that we need to start talking about changes that we want to implement after next year.
We voted on adding to the Tech rules on roof, height, and deck lid height to be determined soon.
We made a note to the teams about not responding to our emails that are sent out. It becomes very frustrating when no one responds and we are trying to make decisions for the club. Please make a better effort in responding.
